Intro
Our founder Bishop Fox's focus on humanist learning had a strong influence, and the trilingual library of Latin, Greek and Hebrew texts earned praise from Erasmus and others.
Please note closure information:
The manuscripts, early printed books and the College Archives are being relocated to the new Spencer Building. This complex process will take a year to complete and all access to the collections will remain extremely limited until Easter 2027. Phase 1 has started, which means that the Corpus Library Special Collections is now closed to readers until the end of June 2026. During this time we regret that there will be no access to the Wright Special Collections Centre, and we are not taking appointments. There will be delays in responding to general correspondence, as well as research and reprographic enquiries. Access to the collection will remain limited for the remainder of 2026, and into 2027.
Once the move is complete, we will look forward to welcoming researchers back to the Wright Special Collections Centre in the Spencer Building.
