Corpus Christi Book Club
Aimed at Year 10 and Year 11 state school students based in Greater Manchester, our Book Club gives students the opportunity to discuss a text with one of our academics and subject ambassadors.
Schools will be sent the book for participating students, free of charge, 2 months prior to the online discussion. There will be 1 book per term (3 in total), with termly meetings to discuss and share ideas on the book.

Book Club 2024-2025
Our theme for this year is Folklore: Focusing on Modern Retellings of Myths and Legends from a Variety of Cultures.
Winter term 2024: ‘A Song for Ella Grey’ by David Almond, a modern retelling of the Ancient Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice.
Spring term 2025: ‘Savage her Reply’ by Deidre Sullivan, a modern retelling of The Children of Lir.
Summer term 2025: 'Green Grass, Running Water' by Thomas King, a story focused on indigenous Canadian mythology from the Blackfoot nation.
Book Club 2023-2024
In the Summer Term 2024, we read the Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline. We met online on Wednesday 23rd May to discuss the book with students from Greater Manchester.
In the Spring Term 2024, we read Darius the Great is Not Okay by Adib Khorram. We met online on Wednesday 28th February to discuss the book with students from Greater Manchester.
