Corpus Christi College has watched with shock and sorrow the continuing Russian aggression in Ukraine.  We express our solidarity with the people of Ukraine and condemn the violence to which they are being subjected, in particular the targeting of civilians and the intentional destruction of the infrastructure which supports their lives and livelihoods.  We admire the courage of all those who are protesting against the war, especially in Russia, where the risks of protesting are grave.  We support their efforts unreservedly.

We join our colleagues at universities in the UK and across Europe and the world in rejecting violence and oppression and reiterating our belief in universities as institutions committed to peaceful debate, democratic values, the rule of law and human rights.  All of these are threatened by the unjustified and cruel war on Ukraine, a country and people whose bravery is an inspiration to all who are devoted to peace and to the honouring of our common humanity.

As a college, we are supporting those impacted by the war through the Disasters Emergency Committee.
