Corpus Christi College proposes to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Greek Language and Literature for the academic year 2020 – 2021. Candidates should be pursuing a DPhil in Classics and already be of DPhil status by October 2020. The Teaching Assistant will be required to pursue his/her DPhil research and to teach core papers for the undergraduate Classics degree for up to 4 hours weekly.  He/she should be able to teach Greek language in preparation for Mods (unseens, set text grammar revision, prose composition).   It is also expected that the GTA would provide ‘study skills’ classes in essay-writing, note-taking and research-methods for the first-year students.

The current stipend is £7,787 and, in addition, the College will contribute £3,200 towards the Graduate Fee. The Graduate Teaching Assistant will be entitled to live in standard graduate accommodation free of charge or receive a housing supplement of £6,064. He/she will receive two free lunches and two free dinners a week during term.

Further particulars are available here. Applications (together with the names of two referees) should be sent to the Academic Registrar by 9 July 2020.  It is the candidate’s responsibility to ask their referees to send references direct to the Academic Registrar, to be received by that date.

The College is an equal opportunity employer.
