Personal Biography
Liz Lyle’s career has spanned both the private and voluntary sectors, managing seven figure budgets and with responsibility for securing millions of pounds worth of funding for both international and UK charities. After six years in the City, as a Marketing and Communications Manager at American Express, Liz took her marketing expertise to a local charitable organisation in Mumbai, India, spending two years volunteering with VSO. In 2009, Liz joined Oxfam’s Philanthropy and Partnerships team, becoming Head of Corporate Partnerships and subsequently, Head of Trust and Foundations. At Oxfam, Liz was instrumental in the development and delivery of Oxfam’s Impact Investing Fund, a commercial initiative to support small and medium enterprises in developing countries to access new types of finance – a first of its kind. Most recently, at Marie Curie, as the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, she was responsible for all high-value giving, both philanthropic as well as corporate. Together with her team, many millions were raised, enabling the provision of the highest quality, person-centred palliative care, needed now more than ever because of the impact of Covid-19. Liz holds an MSc in Development Management from the Open University, and has served as a Governor of her local school in London.
