Personal Biography
Born 12 March 1942. Undergraduate reading Lit.Hum. at Christ Church, 1960-4. Junior Research Lecturer, Christ Church, 1966-71. Junior Fellow, Dumbarton Oaks, Washington D.C., 1968-9. D.Phil. 1971 – Studies in the Organization of the Byzantine Army in the Tenth and Eleventh Centuries. University Lecturer in Byzantine Studies and Fellow of Corpus, 1971-2009. Oxford City Councillor 1972-4, District Councillor 1973-6, County Councillor 1973-7, 1981-7. Married to Angela Huth, 1978. One daughter, Eugenie Teasley, currently head of Impact, Amazon UK.
