The Spencer Building Grand Opening took place on Saturday 20 September 2025, attended by over 350 generous donors to the project. In cutting the ribbon, the Chancellor Lord Hague of Richmond announced that the Spencer Building has received Passivhaus certification in acknowledgement of its high levels of energy efficiency and low environmental impact. Another highlight of the afternoon was the unveiling of Lord Spencer’s portrait. The portrait was painted by Jonathan Yeo, one of the most highly regarded and innovative portrait painters working in Britain.
