Brief visits

We welcome visits from alumni or Old Members keen to revisit former haunts or show friends and family the Library, including the new Spencer Building.  Please contact the Development Team ahead of any visit.  When on site, please be aware of those using these spaces to study.

We ask for consideration of this working space in term time (and especially in Trinity Term, due to revising finalists on site), and awareness that the Library has received large number of visitors in the last 18 months, with the opening of the new Spencer Building.

Use of the Library

If you are an Old Member staying in College please contact the Librarian if you would like access during your stay, or raise the question of access with the Development Team.

If you would like ongoing access, please write to the Fellow Librarian. The Library has to prioritise access for current members, so we are not generally able to offer regular access for all old members, but you may be able to visit at quieter times (e.g. the Long Vacation).

The Bodleian Libraries, on behalf of the University of Oxford, offer a range of services for alumni, with free Bodleian Reader membership, and access to selected journals and online resources.  To find out more, please follow the links of their Getting started: Alumni page and the University's own Alumni Benefits pages.

If you would like to consult items from the College's special collections – manuscripts, early printed books or the archives – please see the details for Visiting Readers as these guidelines applies to everyone (including current members and alumni).

Thank you for your support

Everyone at the Library is hugely grateful for the support and donations we receive from old members, and we are delighted that the Library continues to inspire fond memories.
