The programme will be as follows:

4.00pm - Afternoon Tea
5.00pm - 'The Making of the King James Bible' – a talk by the President

The King James Bible was 400 years old in 2011, and Corpus (alongside Merton) played a significant role in the collective scholarly endeavour that led to its original publication in 1611.  In this talk, the President introduces some of the people and books that gave this enterprise its unique character and that contributed to the lasting legacy of the King James Bible in literature and culture.

There will be a choice of pre-dinner activities:

6.30pm - Evensong 
6.30pm - Historical Tour with Professor Thomas Charles-Edwards (1962, Modern History), co-author of Corpus Christi College, Oxford: A History.

Followed by:

7.00pm - Drinks Reception
7.30pm - Dinner in Hall (black tie)

Followed by coffee and drinks in the Rainolds Room
