Corpus Christi College is seeking to appoint a stipendiary Junior Research Fellow in Hebrew Palaeography, tenable for two years with effect from 1 August 2024.  The appointee will engage in internationally recognized research at the postdoctoral level. 

The appointee will work on the project HebrewPal – Digital Hebrew Palaeography Album which is a part of the ERC-Synergy Project MiDRASH (Migrations of Textual and Scribal Traditions via Large-Scale Computational Analysis of Medieval Manuscripts in Hebrew Script).

The salary will be in the range £33,966 – 38,205 per annum plus research allowable expenses of £2,866 per annum (as at August 2023). The appointment will be pensionable under the USS scheme. 

Applicants will normally be expected to have submitted for a higher research degree before taking up the post. The post is an early career position and post-doctoral candidates will normally be within six years of a viva.

The appointee will be based at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, OX1 4JF and the Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies.
