'Context and Time in Causal Learning: Contingency and Mood Dependent Effects'

Experiments by Experimental Psychology Fellow and Tutor, Dr Robin Murphy, and Dr Rachel Msetfi from the University of Limerick, Ireland, have used a computer-based task to explore how healthy and depressed volunteers responded to simple tasks in which they had varying levels of control.

The paper, "Context and time in causal learning: Contingency and mood dependent effects", discusses how depression and mood relate to perceptions of statistical relations and time. It is scheduled to be published in PLOS ONE on 15 May 2013 and will be available online at http://dx.plos.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0064063.

The paper is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and a press release can be found on the ESRC website.
