Dates of Gaudies and other Alumni Events
Gaudies, Biennial Dinners and Decade Dinners
There are usually two Gaudies a year, with an Alumni Reunion Dinner, open to all Old Members, held every other year. We have also introduced the Decade Dinner which alternates with the Alumni Biennial Dinner. Additionally, reunions are held almost every year in New York and San Francisco and occasional reunions are held in Toronto and Edinburgh.
Gaudies are free and accommodation is available at a modest charge. It is regretted that guests cannot be invited to Gaudies as space in the Hall is limited and we want to accommodate as many Old Members as possible. However, the Biennial Reunion Dinner is a subscription event, open both to Old Members and to their guests. Once again, accommodation is generally available.
Over the years, Old Members have commented that however much they have enjoyed their Gaudy, the strict rolling sequence means that their Gaudies are always for the same years. This means that, for example, if you attend a Gaudy for 1971-74 as a Matriculand from 1971, there will be no-one there from the years above you and yet you will have spent at least 2 years of your time at Corpus with them. Realising that this is a problem, especially in such a small college where life-long friendships are made across the years, we have addressed this with a series of Decade Dinners. The first of these was held in September 2011 for those from 1961-70 and was found to work extremely well.
