Biography

Nick Thorn has been the Development Director at Corpus since 2001. As the College approaches its 500th anniversary he is leading ambitious plans to raise £30m towards a new library building, the endowment of academic posts and the funding of post-graduate research activities. To date, over £9 million has been raised towards that target.

Nick, who was a history undergraduate at Corpus (1988-1990), went on to Warwick to read for an MPhil in Politics before going on to build a career in the charities field. He has worked for the National Council for One Parent Families, Business in the Community and was the founding Director of the Oxfordshire Community Foundation. Before coming to Corpus he was Development Director at Worcester College.

His interests include walking the byways of the Cotswolds and running. Less energetically, he is an avid reader of country noir novels, a keen follower of the burgeoning Americana music scene and has a fascination for the culture of the Deep South. He is a regular supporter of the "Cherry and Whites" (Gloucester RFC).
