Corpus Christi College Oxford

Degree Days

Unlike some other universities, Oxford does not currently hold ‘graduation days' at the end of the summer term. Instead, each College is allocated a number of days (Saturdays) throughout the year on which they can present scholars to the University for conferment of degrees. Students are not automatically entered for a degree day. The pressure on places (particularly during Trinity Term and the Long Vacation) is often heavy, and Corpus has only a small quota of places for each ceremony, so early booking is advised. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

All degree days for 2011 and 2012 are fully booked, as are the dates from January-June 2013.

The scheduling of degree ceremonies will change from July 2013 to enable students to graduate as soon as possible after completing their course. Undergraduate and postgraduate taught students who complete their course and receive their examination results after June 2013 will be assigned a date for their degree ceremony at the start of Michaelmas term of their final year. For example, if your course finishes in June, July or September 2013, you will be assigned a date in October 2012 for your degree ceremony in 2013 or 2014. Research students who are granted leave to supplicate after June 2013 will be offered dates for their degree ceremony once they have been granted leave to supplicate.

If you wish to be added to the waiting list for degree days from July 2013, please email Jeni Clack.

If you wish to collect your degree in absentia you may do so on any degree date, regardless of availability, but you will still need to complete a booking form.

Please read the Notes on Degree Days prior to making a booking. You may also find it useful to refer to the Degree Ceremony Brochure.
